Right now, I'm speechless. It's hard to put all these feelings into words, but I’ll try. It was unbelievable today, from the moment we put the cars on the grid to the moment I passed the finishing line. I don't think I have ever experienced a race like this before, and I am sure that I never will again.
I am certain that not only my heart, but also the hearts of the entire team and fans skipped a beat when I had a collision with Bruno at the start. But the truth is, these things happen, even in deciding races.
But more than ever, what happened next demonstrates what makes my team the best in the world: our iron will. We didn't falter, not for a second, because we were sure we would be able to get back to the top and in the end, that will to succeed is what made us victorious.
The race couldn't have been more exciting, but that's why I'm so proud of everyone in the pit. No one lost their cool, everyone was focussed and able to block out any distractions.
This season was one of our toughest and we had to overcome many obstacles and go through many highs and lows. But because of our dedication, we’ve been able to come through the hard times and end this year how we wanted to back in Melbourne – on top, winning both the constructors’ and the drivers championships.
You can do anything you put your mind to as long as you are honest and work hard.
I can't tell you how happy I am to be able to celebrate with my team tonight – there is no one I would rather spend this night with. I wouldn't be where I am right now if it wasn't for them.
My family, friends, fans and my glorious team made a big difference in the end and this third world championship is yours as well. Thank you.
I am looking forward to many more races and victories. But for now I'm off. I have a party to catch.
All the best from Brazil.
